Operation watermelon was a…

Success!!!!
All the time I spent stressing over the watermelon was crazy. It was just like carving a pumpkin! It was so easy that I decided to not only do the “2014” one but also one wither name on it, both turned out nicely. I spent all morning carving, peeling, cutting, slicing, skewering, and chopping fruit. But it was all worth it when I surprised her with it all and her beautiful face lit up. Wish I had taken a picture of that. So without further ado here they are in all their glory.

I also took some pictures of some of the decorations, I wanted to take pictures of it all but people were starting to show up and I didn’t want to look like a weirdo.

Watermelon drama

“Don’t drop the watermelon.” I forgot to say this to my son today while we were carrying in groceries. It’s something I usually never forget to say, and it is always followed with my son saying “I won’t” and he never does. Until today. He caught it before it hit the ground, but when it bumped the back of the car it split it open. Normally it wouldn’t be no big deal I would still cut it up and everything would be okay. But today I bought the watermelon not just because my family loves it and my daughter kept asking for it at the store, but because I needed it to practice. I showed my sister this awesome idea on Pinterest, I should probably stop doing this because then I automatically get nominated into trying it. Here is the site, it is a watermelon with the graduation year carved out. Well the watermelon was so split in jagged crazy ways that it was impossible for me to use it to practice on it. So now what to do… Should I try again tomorrow or just try to come up with another idea on what to do.
I’m getting so overwhelmed with graduation and wedding things to do that I’m sort of getting into a “I don’t really want to do anything” mood. We are days away from my niece’s graduation party and then the following weekend will be a bachelorette party, followed by a bridal shower the next weekend, then the weekend after that is my brother’s wedding.

Things to do for the graduation party:
Finishing wrapping “diploma” silverware like this…

Figure out what to do with the watermelon
Make the cake topper
Finish table tags
Finish well wishes tags
Make my niece a card
Spend all day helping my sister decorate Friday!!!

Things to do for the wedding:
Make the veil
Make the cake topper
Make the wedding party gifts

Then there is planning and organizing the bachelorette party and bridal shower as well as gifts and cards for those. Thank goodness I have my sister to help me with that planning.

So much to do and so little time!!! Bear with me if my post become sporadic, I will be here when I can.
